What Is Posture & Alignment Training?
Posture is the way our body holds itself while standing, sitting and moving. In good posture, the spine, head and shoulders remain balanced and the muscles work with the least load. Today, prolonged sitting, incorrect working positions and phone use impair our posture, placing extra load on the spine and muscles. Posture training is a program that aims to assess this impaired posture and rebalance it through personalized methods.
Postural disorder is often not a standalone problem; it is also an important underlying cause of low back, neck and back pain.
Who Is It Suitable For?
- Desk workers — those who sit for long periods and use computers
- Hunched posture (kyphosis) and forward head — those with shoulder and neck pain
- Low back and back pain — chronic complaints related to postural disorder
- Those with shoulder asymmetry, one shoulder sitting lower than the other
- Growing children and anyone who wants to correct their posture
How Is It Applied?
The program begins with our physiotherapist's detailed posture analysis; it is determined which muscles have shortened and tightened and which have weakened. Tight muscles are relaxed with stretching and manual methods, while weak muscles are strengthened with targeted exercises. In addition, correct sitting, standing and working habits for daily life are taught. The process progresses gradually according to the person's development.
Benefits
- Reduces the excess load placed on the spine and muscles
- Helps reduce low back, back and neck pain related to postural disorder
- Provides balanced posture by re-establishing muscle balance
- Increases breathing capacity and overall quality of movement
- Helps prevent the recurrence of complaints through correct habits
What We Do
We focus not on correcting postural disorder temporarily, but on rebalancing it permanently. First, our physician and physiotherapist assess your posture in detail and identify the source of the problem. We relax the tight muscles with our mobilization and manual therapy methods, then move on to strengthening.
In the exercises, we base our work on the APPI method, combining breathing and strengthening to prepare a fully personalized, three-dimensional program. The human body is a three-dimensional structure; for this reason, we address posture in all its dimensions. Our aim is not only for you to stand upright, but to help you make that posture a healthy habit in your daily life.
