Pediatric Rehabilitation

Overview

Pediatric rehabilitation is a specialized field of physiotherapy in which musculoskeletal, neurological and developmental problems arising in infancy and childhood are evaluated and treated. Children are not small adults; they have a growing, developing body that changes every day. For this reason, every approach applied to a child must be planned individually according to their age, developmental level and daily life.

Our aim is not merely to resolve an existing problem, but to bring the child's movement, balance, posture and daily skill development into line with their peers. On this journey we believe that the family is as much a part of the process as the child.

When Is It Applied?

  • Developmental delays — delay in motor milestones such as sitting, crawling and walking.
  • Neurological conditions — cerebral palsy, tone disorders and similar presentations.
  • Musculoskeletal problems — torticollis (neck tilt), postural disorders, flat feet.
  • Congenital conditions — developmental hip problems, orthopedic issues.
  • Balance and coordination difficulties — frequent falls, clumsiness, poor coordination of movements.

Rehabilitation Approach

In child physiotherapy, the most important principle is to fit the therapy into the child's world. A child will not do a boring exercise; but they will happily repeat a movement embedded in play. That is why we carry out assessment and treatment in a play-based, loving and pressure-free environment.

Through neurodevelopmental approaches, sensory stimuli, and balance and coordination work, the child is supported in using their own movement capacity. Our goals advance in small, achievable steps; each acquired skill becomes the stepping stone for the next. In this approach we do not rush; we know that every child has their own pace and we shape the process according to their tempo.

What We Do

First, our physician and physiotherapist evaluate the child in detail; examining their developmental history, muscle tone, posture and motor skills, we set realistic goals together with the family. At this first meeting we take care that the child feels safe; because it is not possible to work productively with a child who does not feel trust.

We plan our sessions to attract the child's interest, intertwined with play. Our aim is for the child to come to therapy happily and to achieve a small gain in each session. Instead of force and pressure, we rely on motivation and enjoyable repetition.

We do not leave the family out of the process. We teach parents simple exercises and correct positioning that can be applied at home; because lasting development is achieved not only in the clinic but by being supported at every moment of the day. Throughout the process we keep our communication with the family warm, listen to their concerns and follow the child's development together, step by step. Our principle is always the same: there is no disease, there is a child.
