What Is Ozone?
Ozone gas is a highly unstable, colorless, clear gas made up of three oxygen atoms. A strong disinfectant in its gaseous form, ozone gas was discovered in the mid-19th century, and its effects in treatment are being researched and used.
What Is Ozone Therapy?
Ozone gas is obtained from pure oxygen with a special generator. It is a complementary medicine method applied by mixing the ozone gas taken from the generator with a syringe into the person's own blood, or by delivering it in gaseous form to certain areas of the body.
In ozone therapy, the aim is to make use of the antimicrobial, antibacterial and antioxidant effects of ozone gas.
How Is Ozone Therapy Applied?
Ozone therapy has many application methods; the main ones are as follows;
Major Ozone — in this intravenous (into the vein) application, about 100 ml of blood is taken from the person into a special vacuum bottle. Ozone gas obtained from oxygen gas via a special generator is drawn off and mixed into the blood in the bottle. The ozone gas dissolves and becomes active within the blood, and in the same session the ozonated blood is returned to the person through the vein.
Minor Ozone — in this method, following the assessment made, as much blood as the body needs is ozonated and then injected into the muscle. It is a method used safely especially in respiratory tract diseases (asthma – COPD), allergic disorders and dermatological diseases.
Ozone Injection Applications — this is the method in which ozone gas drawn into a syringe is applied into and around the joint. It is one of the methods performed in cases of rheumatism and arthrosis (calcification).
Use of Ozonated Water/Oil — this is the method of drinking ozone mixed into water or oil.
Rectal Ozone — this is performed by delivering ozone gas to the intestines via the rectal route. It is not an uncomfortable application. It is a frequently preferred method in people with intestinal disorders. It is also used in cases where major ozone cannot take effect. Because the first absorption takes place through the inner surface of the intestine, it protects against intestinal diseases. At the same time, because the products absorbed here reach the liver quickly, it also plays an important role in liver cleansing.
Benefits of Ozone Therapy
Every cell in our body needs oxygen to function. Every cell deprived of oxygen dies. Our ability to think, feel and move, and 90% of our body's energy production, depend on oxygen.
Ozone is a highly active and reactive form of oxygen used to increase the oxygen in the body.
By increasing the oxygenation of the tissues and the body in general, ozone therapy is a supportive treatment method in pain treatment, in infectious conditions, in the regulation of the immune system, in cardiovascular disorders, in wound healing, in systemic disorders such as diabetes and blood pressure, in cancer, and in the regulation of circulation.
Who and Which Conditions Can Ozone Therapy Be Applied To?
-Infected Wounds —
-Circulatory Disorders
-For the Purpose of Supporting the Immune System
-Fibromyalgia
-Musculoskeletal pain and injuries
-Pain related to low-back and neck herniation
-Autoimmune Diseases
-As a supportive addition to existing treatment in systemic diseases such as diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure
-General low energy such as morning fatigue and weakness
-Age
It is frequently used in such conditions. In addition, you do not need to be ill to have ozone therapy. Ozone therapy can also be performed for general well-being and to maintain your health. It is also frequently used for anti-aging purposes.
Who Should Not Receive It?

- -Hyperthyroidism accompanied by excessively high hormone levels
- -In those with severe anemia and bleeding or clotting disorders
- -In chronic and recurrent inflammation of the pancreas
- -In recent heart attack and brain hemorrhage
Our View
- Ozone therapy has an effect that alters the natural course of many diseases and conditions.
- Ozone therapy supports our body's self-renewal and has anti-aging effects.
- Most importantly, because of its immune-strengthening effect, ozone is an application that should not be overlooked for general well-being, whether or not illness is present.
